The ninth season of Suits will head to Netflix on July 1, the streamer announced Sunday. The final installment of last year’s viral phenomenon was previously only available on Peacock.
The news came as castmembers Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Amanda Schull, Abigail Spencer and former USA Network president Jeff Wachtel gathered Sunday for a reunion panel presented by Tudum at the Atx TV Festival in Austin, Texas.
Suits, which originally premiered on USA Network from 2011 to 2019, followed Mike Ross (Adams), a college dropout with a photographic memory who is hired at a New York law firm by Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). The show’s first eight seasons debuted on Netflix last year to great success — by the end of 2023, it was the most streamed show of the year.
Following the newfound success of the series, NBC ordered a pilot for spinoff show Suits: L.A. earlier this year.

On June 6, the 2024 IndieWire Honors ceremony will celebrate thirteen creators and stars responsible for some of the most stellar work of the TV season. Curated and selected by IndieWire’s editorial team, this event is a new edition of its IndieWire Honors event focused entirely on television. In the days leading up to the event, IndieWire is showcasing their work with new interviews and tributes from their peers.
Ahead, “Under the Bridge” star Lily Gladstone — who previously won an IndieWire Honors Award for “Killers of the Flower Moon” — tells IndieWire about the many qualities that set our Maverick Award winner, multi-hyphenate Riley Keough, apart from the crowd.
As told to Erin Strecker. The following has been edited and condensed for clarity.
I first became aware of Riley when she did the Joan Jett piece with Kristen Stewart, because I was doing my due diligence, getting ready to work with Kristen on “Certain Women.

Paramount Global needs to (further) reduce its staff size to compete in today’s cutthroat media landscape. Perhaps it could start by trimming a few CEOs.
After Bob Bakish was unceremoniously (but richly) exited from the company, Paramount went with an “Office of the CEO” setup, the trio of George Cheeks, Chris McCarthy, and Brian Robbins. Those three, with a lead-in from controlling shareholder Shari Redstone, ran Paramount Global’s 2024 Investor Day presentation — and a brief (and very rehearsed) Q&a — on Tuesday.
Redstone’s is the final signature required for Paramount to be merged with Skydance; a formal announcement is likely in the coming days. Until then, mum is the word on that pending deal — and Paramount Global must present to investors like the offer doesn’t exist.
Coincidentally, the three men have a three-part plan to turn around this Titanic (and maybe even tow its pieces back to...

For this conversation, Kristen Wiig and Jon Hamm reunited only two weeks after appearing together on “Saturday Night Live” — Wiig, a regular on the show from 2005 to 2012, joined the Five-Timers Club as the host, and Hamm, her co-star in “Bridesmaids,” appeared as a special guest. The pair had plenty to celebrate: This past season, Wiig starred as a would-be socialite trying to claw her way into the in crowd on Apple TV+’s “Palm Royale.” Hamm also played a gleefully ambitious character for Apple, as an Elon Musk-type billionaire attempting to become a media mogul on the third season of “The Morning Show.

The actress, who will receive the Maverick Award at IndieWire Honors, was immersed in her production company, Felix Culpa, and her debut co-writing and co-directing feature, “War Pony,” received the Caméra d’Or at Cannes. It’s almost “House of the Dragon” season again, which means it’s time for HBO to put everything it has into showing off the megahit series.

“I’m guessing that they’ve had a couple conversations saying, ‘Where’s all that HBO money go?'” Bloys said. “And my hope is that you see it on screen tonight. Well, fans have now uncovered the photo in question. In the video posted on the official Jeopardy! I have an old driver’s license photo from college where I do have a very scraggly mustache, and it’s a bad one.” After he made that comment, fans dived into Jennings’ social media post history and found that he’d shared a photo of his old driver’s license (see below) on X (formerly Twitter) back in November 2019. All American honored the late Kamar de los Reyes on Monday night’s (June 3) episode, five months after the actor died. De los Reyes, who played Coastal California’s Coach Montes on the hit CW series, passed away in December after a brief battle with cancer. As a result, he could only appear in the Season 6 premiere, as that was all he was able to film before his death. While other characters, specifically Cody Christian’s Asher Adams, have referenced Coach Montes throughout the season, there had been no explanation on-screen for his absence. However, on Monday’s episode, the show wrapped up the character’s storyline by revealing he’d accepted a job with the NFL. Asher, who had grown close to Coach Montes over the series, spent the episode keeping his distance so he could avoid having to say goodbye. However, by the end of the episode, Asher...

Over the course of his 40-plus years as a talk show host, David Letterman weathered his fair share of uncomfortable celebrity encounters, including Madonna’s F-bomb-filled 1994 Late Show visit. But few moments were as painful to watch as the time Michael Richards showed up—via satellite—to apologize for a racist outburst that had occurred during a comedy show just three days earier.
In Entrances and Exits, a new memoir from the man best known as Seinfeld’s quirky Cosmo Kramer, Richards opens up about that infamous on-air mea culpa.
The story began on the evening of November 17, 2006, when Richards imploded his career with a single tirade while performing at Hollywood’s Laugh Factory. When a rowdy audience member decided to heckle Richards by declaring him “not funny,” the actor—who was attempting to ease his way back into the standup comedy scene—lost it.

And if you do know fashion, the enigmatic image Lagerfeld (who died in 2019 at the age of 85) crafted is one full of contradictions and omissions. Becoming Karl Lagerfeld is not concerned with the white-haired figure known to millions worldwide, focusing instead on the decade in which the German couturier was rising but still languishing in rival Yves Saint Laurent’s shadow. Set predominantly in 1970s Paris, the six-part limited series is an illuminating exploration of the couture epicenter and what it takes to find success and respect.

With each of the major late-night hosts back on the air Monday night after all but one missed their chance last week to bask in the biggest legal news since Jay Leno unleashed “The Dancing Itos” during the Oj trial, the only thing missing was a song all of them could sing in unison. Maybe:
“Can You Feel the Gloat Tonight?”
In the wake of the criminal conviction of Donald Trump, there was indeed a whole lot of gloating going on. And why not? The late-night quintet of Stewart, Colbert, Kimmel, Fallon, and Meyers (which might work as the name of a “lawfare” law firm) has been roasting Trump for years, often with something less than unabashed glee because he seemed to always dance just out of reach of any official comeuppance.
Here was comeuppance in abundance—34 counts worth of felonies. Each of the hosts took advantage, some more than others.

Missed Monday’s late-night monologues? We’ve got you covered with our round-up of the night’s best laughs from across the dial.
So, Anything Happen Last Week?
Look, nobody could have predicted how quickly a duly selected New York jury would convict Donald Trump of all 34 counts in his felony trial for falsifying financial records to hide his serial adultery to sway an election. But c’mon, late-night hosts—taking the first week of jury deliberations off for vacation? Well, with only Jimmy Kimmel having had the foresight to schedule new shows last week (thus getting a head start on all the monologue schadenfreude), that just means that Messrs. Colbert Stewart, Meyers, and Fallon all had extra time to kick back, laugh themselves silly at the first-time-ever spectacle of a former United States President being convicted in a criminal court, and then get down to work writing all the...

After eight years behind bars, Gypsy Rose Blanchard was released from prison in December 2023, but as the premiere for Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup proves, she hardly felt free in the hours after leaving those confines. The Lifetime docuseries directly follows Blanchard’s life just before and after her release from custody after serving most of her 10-year sentence for the second-degree murder of her mother, Clauddinnea “Dee Dee” Blanchard, after experiencing Munchausen’s Syndrome by Proxy since childhood. On hand to support her return to civilian life was her new husband, Ryan Scott Anderson, her previously estranged father Rod, her stepmother Kristy, and others. However, she got so much more attention than she bargained for — and from some unexpected places. In the premiere episode, which aired Monday night, the Blanchard family was on high alert as they waited for her release. The plan was for Ryan to pick her...

In just a handful of days, Wheel of Fortune fans will be saying goodbye to host Pat Sajak. He’s retiring after 41 seasons, and fans have known this was coming since June 2023. His final episode’s airdate, June 7, was set in April. So how did his final week as host, the aptly titled “Thanks for the Memories,” kick off? It all began with a clip of Pat Sajak and Vanna White from 1997, in which the two joke about the audience thinking of them as a married couple; they’d been working together for 15 years at that point and finished each other’s sentences. “Looks like they’re cleaning out the video files,” Sajak quipped as he and White walked out for the June 3 game. Then he got right to the game. One of the players, Joyce, was in the audience for ...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the June 3 episode of Jeopardy!] It was a close game throughout most of the June 3 episode of Jeopardy!, though by the time Final Jeopardy came, it was a runaway for one of the players. Adriana Harmeyer, an archivist from West Lafayette, Indiana, returned with a three-day total of $71,600 to face off against Carol Ritchey, a retired letter carrier from Eastpointe, Michigan, and Matthew Kahn, an It docketing assistant from San Diego, California. And by the end of it, Harmeyer had added to her total and was a four-day winner. But it wasn’t easy. The three competitors seemed evenly matched, with their scores throughout the Jeopardy! round close; Carol did lead at the first break and at the end of the round, but there was only a $400 then $2700 difference between her and the third place scores. Then, in the Double Jeopardy! round, it was an incorrect answer on the last Daily Double of ...

France has never had trouble getting people to fall in love with its many pleasures: the Eiffel Tower, the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre, and the island majesty of Mont Saint-Michel. It sells itself, which is probably why it is such a sought-after backdrop for television series.
But in the last year, France has been shown even more love than usual, as more than half a dozen shows, all vying for Emmy attention this season, explored the country through the ages. And no, this wasn’t some elaborate promotion for the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Some of us have confessed feelings for our best friend with the uneasy feeling that we were in hell. But when Edwin, one half of the titular “Dead Boy Detectives,” confesses to his best friend of 30 years that not only is he gay, but his feelings for Charles are more than just friendly, he’s standing on a staircase in literal Hell.
The internet had some thoughts on that timing.
“What’s fun has been the social media posts that are like, ‘Maybe you should wait until you get out of Hell to have the conversation,'” co-showrunner Steve Yockey told IndieWire. “And I wrote that episode, and I remember when we were breaking it, people in the room did bring up, like, maybe they should talk about this after they get up the stairs. But once they get up the stairs, [Edwin] might not have the courage to say it.
