The “High Concept” sci-fi show has been very popular in recent years, mostly due to the enormous success of Lost. We’ve had V, Invasion, Surface, Heroes and several others. Most of them haven’t lasted very long. High concepts often start off grabbing the audience by the throat but then when the novelty of the show’s gimmick wears off, people start changing the channel. That’s what happened with FlashForward. Expectations were high but by the end of the first and only season, no one was left watching.
As high concepts go, FlashForward had one of the grandest canvasses of all. The scope of the show was global (rather than being on an island or small town) and the idea was very unique. The story starts in a typical day in October of 2009. We get a look at the lives of some of our main characters as they begin their average day.

A couple weeks ago, ABC officially cancelled their freshman TV show, FlashForward. Though it got off to a good start in the fall, the show's ratings declined fairly steadily throughout the season. Like many ongoing serials that are end before their time, the last episode of FlashForward left many questions unanswered.
In the FlashForward series, the world's population passes out unexpectedly for 137 seconds and has a vision of a future date. The series features a large ensemble cast that includes Joseph Fiennes, John Cho, Jack Davenport, Zachary Knighton, Peyton List, Brian F. O'Byrne, Courtney B. Vance, Sonya Walger, Christine Woods, Genevieve Cortese, Dominic Monaghan, Gabrielle Union, Lee Thompson Young, Ryan Wynott, Barry Shabaka Henley, and Lennon Wynn.
Fans of the series have been trying to get the network to reverse its cancellation decision and are now planning an unusual demonstration on the show's...

It's all falling into place.
We'll be getting a healthy dose of the future when FlashForward's next episode, "The Garden of Forking Paths" airs. It's set on March 15 (the Ides of March), and, as any follower of the show knows, that's the day that Demetri Noh (John Cho) is supposed to die. It's also the day on which blackout mastermind Dyson Frost has predicted his death. Both will be trying to prevent their futures from happening. Can they succeed? According to these promo pictures (and this press release), things are going to be looking pretty tough for Demetri.

One thing FlashForward and Lost have in common is actor Dominic Monaghan. Yes, one of the four Hobbits does make a credited appearance in both shows. Maybe Monaghan is considering jumping on the bandwagon for a show that necessarily must fill the gap as Lost enters its sixth and final season. FlashForward does not necessarily strive for the mantle of what has been called the best show on television, but the pretense is there. As Lost winds down, creators Brannon Braga (veteran Star Trek TV writer) and David S. Goyer (best known for penning Batman Begins and The Dark Knight) hope you’ll jump right into FlashForward, embracing the mystery at the heart of the show.
To be fair, it’s a damn good one – FBI Agent Mark Bedford (Joseph Fiennes) wakes up in an overturned car in the middle of a highway. Screams and explosions fill the air. He...

Now that FlashForward has been officially expanded to a full first season fans can focus on the mystery at hand – and this week's episode, "Black Swan", looks like it has the potential to be explosive. The meaning behind that mysterious use of italics is just ahead.
It looks like Mark and Demitri have their hands on a particularly nasty perp. Why could this young man be stockpiling uranium? Is there a nuclear aspect to the event that caused the FlashForward, or does this nasty have something dirtier in mind? All of that and two more tantalizing tidbits below – including a clip with the so-far sadly underused Zachary Knighton. Black Swan airs Thursday, October 15th at 8:00pm/est on ABC.
"Black Swan" – Olivia struggles to accept Bryce's suggestion that a patient's flashforward holds the key to a correct diagnosis and treatment. Meanwhile, Demetri accuses Mark of waiting for the future...

If you are one of those FlashForward fans waiting anxiously for a little Dominic Monaghan a.k.a Simon action, your ship is about to come in. From the looks of things, Lost's long lost sun will be quite active in FlashForward by the end of the month. Evidence ahead.
ABC Has released a press release for October's capper episode of FlashForward "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps." There were quite a few promo-pics as well… But – Note to ABC: does every episode have to have some kind of conference shot? Old men in suits looking stoic? Sorry, no spires, Dominic Monaghan, or even any kangaroos, therefore these promo pics are… not notable.

This review may contain spoilers. Believe it or not, this week was even more of a roller coaster ride than last week on "FlashForward." We.re left with even more questions than before, like how Mark.s (Ralph Fiennes) marriage dissolves over a quick six months, what his daughter saw in her vision that has scared her so badly, and who the man roaming the baseball stadium in the black trench coat was. Not many answers are offered in this episode and it looks like we won.t be getting them soon either. We do see that Mark and Olivia.s (Sonya Walger) daughter, Charlie (Lennon Wynn), recognizes Dylan (Ryan Wynott) in the hospital - so we know that he is probably in her vision. Dylan is the son of Olivia.s new boyfriend six months from now. But how do we get from point A to point B? No...

If you are anything like me, your head is still spinning after last week's FlashForward. The biggest question on my mind is "How will they follow up?" The pilot for FlashForward as event-driven goodness with great acting and a compelling mystery, but it still felt like it should end in the next hour, tops. This week FlashForward must pick up where it left off, and move forward without moving 'too' forward. Can the mysteries of the mosaic and the event sustain a series? Something tells me we are in very good friends. Maybe it is these five clips…

Now here's something to look forward to. FlashForward makes its series debut on ABC on Thursday night, bringing an eerie new concept to the small screen. Starring Lennon Wynn, Jason Fiennes and John Cho (of Harold & Kumar fame), the series is based on a science-fiction novel by Robert J. Sawyer, about an experiment that causes the entire human race to lose consciousness for approximately two minutes, during which time people see themselves about two decades into the future. Oh, and the "flash forward" also causes numerous deaths involving cars, planes and other vehicles that require human control. Let's take a look into the...
