Veteran metal vocalist John Bush is fronting a new supergroup dubbed Category 7, and the band has already inked a deal with Metal Blade Records.
The outfit features Bush alongside guitarists Phil Demmel and Mike Orlando, bassist Jack Gibson (Exodus), and drummer Jason Bittner.
It was Demmel and Orlando who initially conceived the idea for the supergroup, sharing the desire to form a classic twin guitar unit a la Thin Lizzy. Bittner and Gibson were the next two on board, and after demoing early material, the musicians tapped Bush to be the frontman.
“Mike Orlando’s and Phil Demmel’s awesome riffs made writing lyrics over the music a piece of cake,” Bush said via a press release. “The rhythm tandem of Bittner and Gibson rounded out the sound and the connection felt like it was put together in the stars. Obviously, everyone being a veteran of the metal scene made it that much easier.

It’s something that’s haunted him through most of his career, even if everything turned out well for the band. These self-conscious insecurities are interestingly put on […]...

Hellblazer‘s John Constantine
(DC Comics)
For fans of the long-running comic book series Hellblazer, the continued changes being made for the TV adaptation haven’t exactly instilled confidence. First, executive producer Daniel Cerone announced that John Constantine (Matt Ryan) won’t be shown smoking the character’s ubiquitous cigarettes – which, for Constantine, is like showing Superman without his cape. But this is a network show after all, and showing a character enjoying a smoke after impaling hell beasts with a wooden stake might damage the psyches of our poor children. A little whitewashing of the character seems reasonable, but we learned this week that there will also be some straightwashing involved. Cerone warned at the TCA press tour that Lgbt fans of the comics will have to wait a Long time before the John Constantine of the NBC show explores bisexuality.
“Within this tome of three decades, there might...

I think you should just go ahead and ask Kristanna Loken out. Clearly, she'll say yes to just about anything. Director/pugilist/laughingstock Uwe Boll says Loken will return for yet another BloodRayne movie. Seriously: They're not done making BloodRayne movies. Somehow.
Boll tells DreadCentral that BloodRayne 3: Warhammer, which might be the greatest album title Armored Saint never used, will shoot beginning in January. Also, we'll have Nazis this time around. Can it get any better? Can it get more Uwesque? I think not.
