Dominique Devenport und Jannik Schümann übernehmen wieder die Rollen Sisi und Franz. Neu im Cast sind u. a. Beta Film has closed a raft of major deals for the period drama “Sisi” ahead of its world premiere in Cannes on Monday. In addition, Rtl Deutschland has given the green light for the second season of the series.
“Sisi” will bow in Germany later this year on the streaming platform Rtl Plus and then on linear channel Rtl.
The six-hour period drama, produced by Story House Pictures, will be broadcast by Mediaset in Italy, Globoplay in Brasil, Npo in the Netherlands, Rtl in Hungary, Rtvs in Slovak Republic and Viasat World on its Epic Drama channel throughout Eastern Europe, Greece, Cyprus and Turkey.
Most recently, Beta Film signed a contract with Vtm Belgium. Previously, TF1 for France and Austrian pubcaster Orf joined as broadcasting partners. Numerous negotiations are ongoing.
The coming-of-age story of the Austrian Empress will celebrate its world premiere at the TV festival Canneseries on Monday, playing out of competition.

Berlin-based sales company Picture Tree Intl. has picked up international rights to Ufa Fiction’s family drama “God You’re Such a Prick”, which features Til Schweiger and Heike Makatsch leading a star-studded cast.
Inspired by the true story of Stefanie Pape and the book of the same name written by her father Frank Pape, the film follows a 16-year-old girl, played by Sinje Irslinger, whose world is turned upside down when she finds out she has terminal cancer right before a school graduation trip to Paris. When Steffi’s parents, portrayed by Schweiger and Makatsch, decide she should stay home instead, she runs away with a young motorcycle daredevil, played by Max Hubacher, who promises to take her to Paris. Driven by deep longing and a lust for life, Steffi learns it’s easier to let go of life when you’ve really loved it.
