Ryan Murphy's Fox procedural "9-1-1" is billed as a show about heroes. More specifically, the show follows first responders — firefighters, 911 operators, and cops on the front lines of disasters. As such, the audience is always encouraged to root for the main characters as they face danger and emotional devastation to get the job done. That doesn't mean that every character in the show is endlessly lovable, of course. These first responders all have their demons to contend with — demons they must put aside while in the field.
If "9-1-1" were filled with totally unlikable characters, it wouldn't work. This is a show about selfless people who run toward the fire, not away from it. Nonetheless, while every character in the series gives 100 percent to the job, their personal lives are another matter. Some characters deal with their problems better than others, and that's what makes the show interesting. Nobody's perfect,...

The bursting at the seams cast of You Season 3 just got bigger.

Described as a “well-liked single dad who’s overcome a history of addiction, Ryan has secrets, including a controlling, calculating demeanor that he reserves for those closest to him and anyone who gets in his way.”
Yep, he sounds just as dark as the characters that came before him.
He joins a packed cast that already includes Scott Speedman (Animal Kingdom), Shalita Grant (Search Party), Travis Van Winkle (The Last Ship), Dylan Arnold (Nashville), Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Ben Mehl (The Good Wife), Shannon Chan-Kent (Good Trouble), Christopher Sean (Days of Our Lives), Chris O’Shea (Madam Secretary), Bryan Safi (9-1-1), Mackenzie Astin (Homeland), Ayelet Zurer (Daredevil) and Jack Fisher (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

You Season 3 has found Joe's latest obsession.
Per Deadline, Michaela McManus has boarded the third season of the Netflix hit in the role of Natalie, Joe's married neighbor.
If you watch You online, you know Joe set Natalie as his next obsession at the close of You Season 2.
Natalie is professionally and socially successful (which seems to be the norm on this series!), but Joe knows there is more to her than meets the eye, and that explains his decision to pursue her.
Joe has always been intrigued by women who are not who they appear to be. Case in point: Love Quinn, who later emerged as a merciless killer, much like Joe.
But Joe is bonded with Love in that they both created a baby, and thus, have moved to a suburban neighborhood.
Saffron Burrows, who plays Love's mother, has been upped to a series regular ahead of the third season.

There is one less source for late-night laughter. TV Land has cancelled its Throwing Shade TV show after only one season. “Moulin Rouge” or “The Mighty Ducks”? That was one of the toughest decisions being made Sunday night at the Funny or Die offices in Los Angeles, where the cast and crew behind the “Game of Thrones” recap series “Gay of Thrones” had gathered, as they had for the past four weeks this summer, to watch the HBO blockbuster drama and (lovingly) tear it apart.
By 5 p.m. the following day, the latest installment was online — an awe-inspiring turnaround, given the Emmy-nominated series’s dense implementation of clips, visual jokes and actor-driven improv, cut down to a tight runtime that rarely exceeds five minutes.

Last night’s episode of TV Land’s “Throwing Shade” jumped politically from the likes of Mike Huckabee to crowdfunded breast milk fro-yo. In a sketch detailing the absurdity of paid maternity not being considered a right for women, Erin and Bryan have created their own crowdfunding methods for having a baby. Because, as Erin warns, in this day and age having a baby means that “not only do you have to deal with morning sickness, now you have to learn iMovie.”
“Throwing Shade’s” Bryan Safi and Erin Gibson’s partnership goes way back to their early days of writing for the Current TV comedy news show “Infomania.” After the death of said comedy news show, the two brought their chemistry into the more personal realm of a podcast pertinent to their specific issues. With its podcast roots, and a subsequent series produced by Funny or Die, “Throwing Shade...

Funny or Die’s next foray into the world of television will bring it to TV Land. The online comedy network is developing a pilot based on Throwing Shade, a podcast web series hosted by Erin Gibson and Bryan Safi.
The TV pilot will feature the same sort of chattiness and candor that viewers can find in the 80 episodes of Throwing Shade available on the Funny Or Die website. “This is Throwing Shade,” explain Gibson and Safi in the beginning of each episode, “where ‘feminasty’ Erin Gibson and homosexual Bryan Safi take a look at the headlines in politics and pop culture and treat them with much less respect than they deserve. Can you handle it?”
The Throwing Shade pilot could fit into TV Land’s expanding lineup. The Viacom-owned channel, best known for airing classic sitcoms, got into originals about five years ago. “We are huge fans of the podcast,...

A Deadly Adoption Trailer. Lifetime‘s A Deadly Adoption (2015) TV movie trailer stars Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Jessica Lowndes, Jake Weary, and Alyvia Alyn Lind. A Deadly Adoption‘s plot synopsis: “Inspired by a true story, “A Deadly Adoption” is a high-stakes dramatic thriller about a successful couple (Ferrell and Wiig) who house and care for a pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes) during the final months of her pregnancy with the hope of adopting her unborn child. However, the woman’s own dark intentions complicate those plans.”
I am not a big TV movie person but this particular one looks good, if not entertaining in a “popcorn” sort of way.
A Deadly Adoption also stars Brooke Lyons, Debra Christofferson, and Bryan Safi.

I've said it before, and I will say it again: Mariah Carey is the most fun living celebrity. She's like an R&B Jayne Mansfield, offering up sultry looks and ridiculous glamor with a wink (sometimes). Now she's making Frito Pie on Funny Or Die. Thank you, life. What an astonishing moment in human history. The Frito bit is a reference to her new song "Infinity," which contains a Frito metaphor I'll cherish for the rest of my days. I was excited enough to see Funny Or Die maven Bryan Safi as Mariah's assistant, but that weird-ass cameo by Brett Ratner floored me too. This whole video is too much. Let "The Emancipation of Frito" commence!

Texas Governor Rick Perry has been all over the news for equating homosexuality with alcoholism. Nobody in the press has been willing to cut him any slack, and at this point he’s finally admitted that he “stepped in it.”
He probably decided to just fess up so that he wouldn’t ever have to do a press conference like this one from Funny Or Die, with the hilarious Bryan Safi.
Nsfw for language, and possibly because you’ll laugh so hard your boss will know you’re not working.

Texas governor Rick Perry compared homosexuality to alcoholism last week, and it turns out it's not because he once dated Louie Anderson. The politico clarified his views in this new Funny Or Die clip (starring out comic James Adomian as Perry) and featuring "Throwing Shade" podcast star Bryan Safi as an inquiring journalist. And hey, is that Vine kook Garrett Watts in back? I do believe so.

The ratings for Duck Dynasty are down 40% from a year ago, but it can’t be blamed on Phil Robertson‘s homophobic and racist comments. Ratings were sliding before Robertson’s infamous GQ profile. Now I’m looking back at that interview and wondering if those comments were an attempt to drum up some publicity.
Aaron Paul says he’s in talks to join the cast of Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul. I have to admit, I’m intrigued at the idea of fleshing out Jesse’s “Capt’n Cook” days.

Throwing Shade, the podcast starring “feminasty” Erin Gibson and “homosensual” Bryan Safi, is now a zestier experience in living Technicolor! In their newest Funny Or Die episode, Bryan and Erin welcome on Cheyenne Jackson (Bryan’s favorite member of the Jackson family) to discuss Behind the Candelabra‘s smelly stars, Geena Davis‘s lacefront in Angie, and petty theft. Jackson’s divorce also comes up for a brief second before the show devolves into a discussion about sandalwood and condoms.
