Jeannie Epper, the peerless, fearless stunt performer who doubled for Lynda Carter on Wonder Woman and swung on a vine across a 350-foot gorge and propelled down an epic mudslide as Kathleen Turner in Romancing the Stone, has died. She was 83.
Epper died Sunday night of natural causes at her home in Simi Valley, her family told The Hollywood Reporter.
Just one member of a dynasty of stunt performers that Steven Spielberg dubbed the “Flying Wallendas of Film” — starting with her father, John Epper, there have been four generations of Eppers in show business since the 1930s — she worked on 150-plus films and TV shows during an astounding 70-year career.
In 2007, Epper received the first lifetime achievement honor given to a woman at the World Taurus Awards and ranks among the greatest stuntwomen of all time.

A lot of really fun movies from the eighties and nineties are tough to get decent copies of. While some of the stories have happy endings, other films seem all but doomed to languish until a niche label like Arrow Video, Kino Lorber, or Unearthed Films gives them the TLC they deserve. So, what’s the title we’re worried is Gone Forever here at JoBlo? A cool little thriller (which I previously wrote up for Best Movie You Never Saw) from 1991 called Ricochet has a pretty impressive pedigree. The movie stars Denzel Washington, John Lithgow, Ice-t, Kevin Pollack and The Bionic Woman herself, Lindsay Wagner, while Highlander’s Russell Mulcahy directs it, is produced by Joel Silver, and is written by Die Hard’s Steven E De Souza. In fact, Ricochet takes place in the same universe as Die Hard, with Mary Ellen Trainor reprising her role as snoopy TV reporter Gale Wallens.

Every school has that certain teacher who is a bully, heartless and at times sadistic. Everyone must take their class, but no one finishes the course unscathed. Paul Hunham (Paul Giamatti) of Alexander Payne’s acclaimed comedy-drama “The Holdovers” is one such instructor. Set in 1970, “The Holdovers” revolves around the by-the-books classics professor teaching at the same New England boarding school he had attended. Hunham is hated by his students, as well as his fellow teachers. And he’s also in hot water, after he failed one of the school’s largest donor’s son in his class. During the Christmas break, he is forced to supervise the “holdovers — -the students who for various reasons must stay on campus. He ends up sharing the holidays with one troubled student (Dominic Sessa) whose mother recently remarried; and the cafeteria administrator (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) grieving her only son’s death in the Vietnam War.

When we talk about classic TV shows from the '70s, it's hard not to mention "The Six Million Dollar Man." Airing for five seasons on ABC, the show focuses on astronaut Steve Austin who is gravely injured in a spaceship crash. He then undergoes a government surgery that replaces his body parts with machine parts, making him part man, part cyborg. With the new powers afforded him by these upgrades, Steve goes to work for the Office of Scientific Information, battling evil forces.
The show ran for 99 episodes and inspired six TV movies. Mark Wahlberg has even been attached to star in a big-screen adaptation of the show for years now, with the project stalling out at various points. But Lee Majors was the man responsible for originally bringing the character to life. 50 years removed from the show's premiere on network television, Majors and several other of the show's...

How do you go about charting your path for an ideal career?
If you ask prolific writer Samantha Herman, also a practicing attorney, she’d probably say to let the waves take you where they will while always keeping sight of your dreams.
We chatted with her in anticipation of her latest, Christmas Island, and discovered her route from a fan of the Hallmark genre to writing some of their best movies proves that keeping your eyes on your target pays off.
Samantha is warm, amusing, and insightful as she describes her winding road to screenwriting success. Her love for her craft is evident with every word she writes and every word she speaks.
A true fan of romantic comedies and Christmas movies in particular, she’s exactly who those of us who share her interests want to represent us on the page.

Previously we’ve covered the iconic Six Million Dollar Man on Gone But Not Forgotten. It’s only right that we also showcase Steve Austin’s equally amazing bionic co-hart. The Bionic Woman, who was as popular as The Six Million Dollar Man and was an important piece of TV history for a number of reasons. It would give women, girls, and guys a new perspective on just how powerful a woman could be, not only in a robotically enhanced strength but also in their character. Jamie Sommers was something special, and not even a TV death could keep her down. On this episode of Gone But Not Forgotten, listen close as we tell the story of The Bionic Woman.
The Bionic Woman herself was introduced in Season 2 of The Six Million Dollar Man already an important part of Steve Austin’s life. Jaime Sommers and Steve had a relationship...

At the time, it seemed like a bit of a stretch. These days, audiences might have laughed at the audacity of the premise. But in 1976, when ABC wanted to capitalize on the amazing success of The Six Million Dollar Man by introducing The Bionic Woman, the show was an instant hit. Lindsay Wagner, who originated the role on an episode of The Six Million Dollar Man as a back-door pilot, could hardly believe it when The Bionic Woman rocketed into the Top 5 of the Nielsen ratings during its very first season. Over time, though, she’s come to understand and accept that overnight success; speaking at a fan event a few years back, she talked about why she believes the show became so iconic. Apple TV+’s hit limited series “Hijack” starring Idris Elba is a nail-biting thrill ride set in real-time. Over the years, there have been many types of hijack films. Besides planes, there have been suspenseful takeovers of ships, trains, subways and even trucks.
“The Taking of the Pelham One Two Three,” from 1974 — avoid the two remakes — is a superb thriller about four men who take over a New York subway car and hold the passengers, conductor and an undercover policeman hostage unless they get $1 million (remember that was a lot of money 49 years ago). If their demands aren’t met, they will start killing hostages. Directed by Joseph Sargent and adapted by Peter Stone from the best-selling novel by John Godey, “Taking” boasts a stellar cast at the top of their game including Walter Matthau, Robert Shaw, Hector Elizondo and Martin Balsam. David Shire penned the influential score.

In the 1970s, robotics was all the rage for a while on primetime TV, as The Six Million Dollar Man and its spin-off, The Bionic Woman, were both hit shows. Lee Majors and Lindsay Wagner starred in the two series, and they often worked together on crossover episodes. However, even though they were America’s bionic darlings, they didn’t become all that friendly while shooting their series. Speaking at a fan event a few years ago, Wagner recalled that she and Majors really didn’t start bonding until their series were finished and they made a few TV movies together. Over a decade after beginning her screen acting career, Jodie Comer made history at the 2019 Primetime Emmys by becoming the all-time youngest recipient of the Best Drama Actress prize as one of the stars of “Killing Eve.” After being left out of the previous year’s lineup, she was rewarded for her work on the spy thriller’s second season, which further explored the obsessive relationship between her character – an international assassin – and the MI6 agent (Sandra Oh) recruited to apprehend her.
At 26, Comer was nearly two years younger than previous record holder Lindsay Wagner (“The Bionic Woman”) was at the time of her victory 42 years earlier. Although 24-year-old Zendaya (“Euphoria”) took the title from her just one year later, she still holds the distinction of being one of the 10 youngest nominees and winners honored here in the seven-decade history of the Emmy awards.

Nightmare Alley director Guillermo del Toro says video game development isn’t his thing anymore.
On the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the award winning director who was once teamed up with Hideo Koijma to develop Konami’s horror survival video game Silent Hills, flat out said he doesn’t think he’ll ever try video game development again.
Fans were curious about his status after he appeared at the Game Awards this year and commented on the hope of a new Silent Hill game being released soon. While he loves video games and gaming ideas, he doesn’t think he’ll develop another game because he’s labeled himself “the albatross of video gaming.”
“It’s just one of those things in my life that makes no sense,” del Toro said of Silent Hills’ cancellation. “I kind of just wanted to tickle the ribs of Konami, because I don’t understand.

Youth is wasted on the young, but the Emmys might not be. “The Crown” duo Emma Corrin and Josh O’Connor are predicted to take home Best Drama Actress and Best Drama Actor Emmys, respectively, and if that happens, they’ll be one of the youngest pair of drama lead acting winners of all time.
Corrin is 25 and O’Connor is 31, making them practically zygotes compared to the ages of a majority of the acting winners. The good news for Corrin is that there has been a youth movement as of late in drama actress. Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”) became the category’s youngest winner in 2019 at 26, dethroning Lindsay Wagner, who was 28 when she won for “The Bionic Woman” in 1977. Comer’s reign was short-lived as Zendaya, then 24, prevailed last year for “Euphoria.” Corrin, obviously, wouldn’t beat Zendaya’s record, but she’d be the category’s second youngest champ...

By all accounts, Jennie Logan (Lindsay Wagner) has it all – beauty, intelligence, a loving husband (Alan Feinstein) named Michael, and a good friend in whom she confides (Constance McCashin). While they do not have children, Jennie and Michael seem to be unperturbed by the lack of tiny bare feet on the hardwood floors – there is plenty of time for all of that. Or is there? Looks can be deceiving and it is not long before we discover that this seemingly “perfect couple” have their own demons to wrestle with.
Guided on a tour of the sprawling Victorian manse prior to their eventual purchase by a matter-of-fact realtor (Pat Corley) who off-handedly remarks that the unfinished attic is unworthy of even the most cursory glance, Jennie feels drawn to it, though she cannot fathom why. Following their purchase and move-in, Jennie...

Earlier this awards season I warned you not to count out Sophie Okonedo (“Ratched”) when making your Emmy nominations predictions. Well, not enough people listened to me, as she was the only Drama Guest Actress nominee who surprised pundits on nominations morning. The other four — Alexis Bledel (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Phylicia Rashad (“This Is Us”), Mckenna Grace (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) and Claire Foy (“The Crown”) — all placed within the Top 5 of Gold Derby’s combined odds. Now that Okonedo has secured the nomination, the hard part is over. I now think she’s going to win that Emmy.
Netflix’s period drama series is based on the 1962 novel “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and the 1975 film of the same name. Okonedo joined the “Ratched” cast in the fifth episode, “The Dance,” as a new patient at Lucia State Hospital named Charlotte Wells. Charlotte is treated for dissociative identity disorder by Dr.

When making your Emmy predictions for this year’s Best Drama Guest Actress category, remember one thing: voters love multiple personalities. This year no one fits that bill more than Sophie Okonedo, who took on the challenging role of mental institution patient Charlotte Wells on Netflix’s “Ratched.” Charlotte is treated for dissociative identity disorder by Dr. Richard Hanover (Jon Jon Briones) and Nurse Mildred Ratched (Sarah Paulson) at Lucia State Hospital, with some of her personalities being Ondine, a boastful musician, Apollo, an aggressive athlete and Baby Taffy, an innocent child.
The Emmys often go crazy for actors who undergo dual roles — just ask Toni Collette (“United States of Tara”), Lindsay Wagner (“Bionic Woman”) and Sally Field (“Sybil”). More recently, Tatiana Maslany claimed the trophy for playing countless clones on “Orphan Black.” If Okonedo is recognized for “Ratched,” it would be her first career Emmy nomination.

Marvel is going big on the Emmy ballot. Their Disney+ drama series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” has a whopping 40 submissions from Best Drama Series to Best Drama Writing to Best Stunt Coordination — 41 if you count “Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier'” for Best Documentary/Nonfiction Special. How many of those entries will turn into Emmy nominations when they’re announced on July 13? And how many of those will it win? Scroll down to see the full list.

For the past two years, the Emmys’ Best Drama Actress category has crowned twentysomethings, with each breaking the record as the category’s youngest winner, and that youth movement could continue with Emma Corrin. The 25-year-old star of “The Crown” star is the early unanimous favorite to take home the prize in September.
Corrin would follow in the footsteps of 2019 champ Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”) and reigning champ Zendaya (“Euphoria”), both of whom won in upsets and neither of whom are eligible this year. Then 26, Comer dethroned Lindsay Wagner, who was 28 when she triumphed for “The Bionic Woman” in 1977, to become the youngest Best Drama Actress champ. But that reign lasted as long as her Emmy reign did as Zendaya, then 24, prevailed last year over Comer and a bunch big names and veterans, including Jennifer Aniston (“The Morning Show”), Olivia Colman (“The Crown”), Laura Linney (“Ozark”) and Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve...

Most of us Emmy pundits didn’t see Jodie Comer‘s Best Drama Actress victory for “Killing Eve” coming. Her co-star Sandra Oh was the odds-on favorite, but the fact that Comer’s victory was a surprise overshadowed the fact that her win was also unprecedented. At age 26, Comer became the youngest woman ever to win Best Drama Actress.
Twenty-somethings winning at the Oscars is commonplace — from Gwyneth Paltrow (“Shakespeare in Love”) to Jennifer Lawrence (“Silver Linings Playbook”) to Brie Larson (“Room”), to name a few. But it’s far less typical at the Emmys, where only two other women have won south of 30. Lindsay Wagner was 28 when she prevailed for “The Bionic Woman” in 1977. And Gillian Anderson was 29 when she was awarded for “The X-Files” in 1997.

I’ve got three new trailers to share with you today for Hideo Kojima's upcoming crazy looking video game Death Stranding. These are actually more likes clips from the game rather than trailers. They each offer us insight regarding different aspects of the game.
In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, and the planet on the verge of a mass extinction, it’s up to Sam Bridges to journey across the ravaged wasteland and save mankind from impending annihilation.
The first clip specifically spotlights the character Mama and features a ghost baby; The "Ludens Fan" that features Geoff Keighley himself and Norman Reedus’ character taking a piss; and then there’s "Bridge Babies" or BBs, as in the Bb Pod/artificial womb the main character carries around in the game.

Hey, Grey's Anatomy fans. We hope you guys enjoyed tonight's episode 16. Now that it's officially wrapped up, it's time to once again direct our focus to what's in store for the next, new episode 17. The wonderful folks over at ABC were kind enough to lend in a helping hand for that with their recent episode 17 press release delivery. If ever an occasion called for a blowout to end all blowouts, tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy was it. Not only is the hour “our first-ever no-medicine episode,” says showrunner Krista Vernoff, but it breaks ER’s record, making the ABC smash the longest-running primetime medical drama in American TV history.
On screen, “Jackson is throwing a party to celebrate Catherine’s successful surgery” and the doctors who performed it, explains the Ep. So right off the bat, that’s an extremely tense situation, since it puts all four legs of the Amelia/Owen/Teddy/Tom quadrangle in one room.

ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy will definitely earn having the phrase “long-running” in front of it now. Thursday’s episode, “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” will be its 332nd, officially making the ABC Studios series, now in the midst of its 15th season, the longest-running primetime medical drama in TV history. It is passing NBC’s ER.
Grey’s, which had its season order increased in January to 25 episodes, remains a strong earner for ABC in ratings performance, popularity and longevity. It went into its winter hiatus averaging a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating (Live+7) to rank as the network’s No. 1 TV show of the 2018-2019 season in the demo. It also regularly ranks among the top most binged series on streaming.
Grey’s already tied ER as the longest-running primetime medical drama ever at 15 seasons apiece. However, ER produced 22 episodes or less in every season except the first, which...

Fuller House is really living up to its name in Season 4, as you’ll see in the just-released trailer for the Netflix comedy’s next run of episodes, arriving on Dec. 14. Picking up shortly after the events of Season 3, Kimmy is now playing surrogate to Stephanie and Jimmy’s baby, though we have it on good authority that this pregnancy will be anything but typical.
“She goes against everything you think a pregnant woman is going to be,” Juan Pablo Di Pace (aka Fernando) recently told TVLine. “She’s doing cartwheels around the kitchen and eating the spiciest foods. She...
