- Beatrice Vitoldi was born on December 15, 1895 in Salerno, Italy. She was an actress, known for Battleship Potemkin (1925). She died in November 1939 in Moscow, Russia.
- Due to her appearance in Battleship Potemkin, she became so famous in the Soviet Union that she was appointed the first permanent Soviet ambassador to Italy in 1931. However, in 1937, she was summoned back to Moscow, where she was put on trial for show and then murdered in 1939 by gunshot as part of Stalin's Great Purge.
- The producer and director Vincenzo De Sio, fellow citizen of Beatrice Vitodi, has produced an animated short movie dedicated to her. The title is Beatrice.
