In 1989 he sold a spec script he wrote with
Tony Bill titled "Ocean of Storms" to
Warren Beatty. The script was a love story about an aging astronaut who rejoins the lunar program for another shot at glory and falls in love with a female astronaut. The script was in development for more than a decade with rewrites from several big name writers, but the project was eventually eclipsed by the
Clint Eastwood astronaut movie at Warner Bros.,
Space Cowboys (2000) and was eventually shelved indefinitely.
