ESPN’s “Toy Story”-themed alternative live stream of Sunday’s Jaguars-Falcons game was incredibly ambitious, and it showed early on in the form of technical issues.
The stream was available on both Disney+ and ESPN+. That is, if you could get in. I was able to log in on my second or third try after fully restarting my TV; a colleague gave up after five minutes of continuous trying. Those who joined halfway (or more) through the first quarter probably had the best viewer experience.
Ball-tracking was the first noticeable challenge and the most consistent issue throughout the game. At times, the football would just appear on random spots of the carpet (field) or slide around the playing surface on its own. Sometimes The Claw, playing the role of umpire in Andy’s room, never even spotted the ball at the line of scrimmage.

This The Blacklist review contains spoilers.
The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 3
In typical The Blacklist fashion, “The Four Guns” doesn’t refer to firearms. Rather, the four individuals who are on Raymond Reddington’s (James Spader) blacklist this week are goniffs, Yiddish for “thieves.” These are not your run of the mill pickpockets. After all, they move through Senator Cynthia Panabaker’s (Deirdre Lovejoy) re-election speech at the park as an “apex predator,” a single organism of coordinated effort that manages to deftly swipe two guns, a radio, and a cell phone off of the two Secret Service men tasked with protecting Panabaker from malcontents. One of those secret service weapons is the one that fires at Panabaker but hits one of her agents in the shoulder instead.
A goniff is not a murderer, but a sly trickster who takes what belongs to another while fearing flesh and blood and eluding discovery at all cost.

On the way to a lucrative payout the Mexican authorities suddenly apprehend them. When the authorities bring them in, Jack finds himself face-to-face with Agent Price (Bernsen), his former CIA handler. Agent Price informs Jack that he s being sent to La Muerte, a high-tech, impenetrable fortress. La Muerte operates as a black site for high profile detainees from Mexico’s war against the Cartels. If writer-director-producer Joe Carnahan has a trademark, it’s grit. The filmmaker does ‘gritty’ on a level quite unlike anybody else currently in the business. One of his earliest efforts, from 1998, is literally called Blood, Guts, Bullets And Octane – which gives a pretty good indication of the style for which this artist shoots. In that respect, his latest comments on two current projects are both unsurprising and reassuring – as he spoke to Collider about Death Wish, and Wheelman.
The subject of Death Wish might have been a sore one, but Carnahan clearly took a diplomatic approach when addressing the project. It’s a script that he wrote as a re-working of the classic Charles Bronson film, but which saw him ultimately part ways with MGM over the direction in which the studio wanted to take the film. Joe Carnahan is not giving up on his version of the story, though,...

'Crash' movie: Ryan Phillippe. 'Crash' movie review: California tossin' and turnin' Screenwriter Paul Haggis' multiple award-winning directorial debut, Crash, is set in a Los Angeles that is part Quentin Tarantino, part Paul Thomas Anderson, part Spike Lee, part Bret Easton Ellis. Haggis' L.A. also happens to be a place with precious little in common with the Southern California metropolis located on Planet Earth. In the film, Haggis and co-screenwriter Robert Moresco tell us – or rather, scream at us – that the Angeleno boiling (definitely not melting) pot is about to explode at any moment, as Los Angeles denizens spend all their spare time hating, fearing, misunderstanding, and cheating on one another. And perhaps much of that is true, except that most of that hate, fear, misunderstanding, and cheating have absolutely nothing to do with ethnic or national differences. But not in this particular L.A., situated in some warped La...

I don't know who is behind the marketing for Joe Carnahan's Stretch, which is now available on iTunes and Amazon, but they are definitely going all out and it doesn't appear to be Universal is going anywhere near it. That said, they have definitely captured the attention of the Internet, or, well, at least me as I'm something of a Carnahan fan and this new red band trailer would seem to either convince you to see the movie or keep you very far away from it. amz asin="B00O8O3W4U" size="small"Clearly the intent with Stretch is to see just how crazy and debaucherous things can get on the big screen as Patrick Wilson plays a down-on-his-luck chauffeur looking to relieve himself of some debt when he starts working for a billionaire (Chris Pine) who makes his life hell. That, however, only seems to be...

Hitting On Demand today over at Amazon and iTunes is Joe Carnahan's Stretch starring Patrick Wilson as a down-on-his-luck chauffeur looking to relieve himself of some debt when he starts working for a billionaire (Chris Pine) who makes his life hell. Universal was going to release the film in theaters earlier this year, but now they've basically washed their hands of any kind of marketing effort (I haven't received a single email about the new movie) and left it to Carnahan to do most of his own promotion... and he's doing a pretty good job. amz asin="B00O8O3W4U" size="small"While the official YouTube channel for the film has been releasing trailers, clips and gag reels, this latest behind the scenes look at the making of a sex scene featuring Wilson and Brooklyn Decker is just great... it's also not safe for work. Ever wonder...

I get the impression Joe Carnahan's Stretch is going to be closer to Smokin' Aces than to Narc, which is alright with me, though I would love to see him deliver another gritty little feature like Narc. Today, following a flurry of clips, pictures, a gag reel and more clips, the first trailer for the upcoming release has arrived for your judgment. Universal is going an interesting route with this one after pulling it from the release schedule earlier this year. Now the plan is to premiere it on iTunes and Amazon.com on October 7 followed by an On Demand release on October 14. Based on this it sounds like it won't be hitting theaters at all. Too bad. Stretch is described as an action comedy/thriller centering on a down-on-his-luck chauffeur (Patrick Wilson) looking to relieve himself of some debt when he starts working for a billionaire (Chris Pine) who makes his life hell.

Living in Seattle means I wasn't able to attend a screening of Joe Carnahan's Stretch which took place last Thursday, September 18. I'm not sure who all attended the screening, and I'm not sure if Universal was allowing anyone to talk about it or review it, but with an On Demand release coming in October, I'll hopefully be seeing it soon enough with the rest of you. All that said, four new clips from the film have just surfaced, one of the most interesting features David Hasselhoff giving Patrick Wilson a piece of his mind in a not safe for work, profanity riddled rant. In the film Wilson plays a down-on-his-luck chauffeur and in this clip he's an hour late to pick up The Hoff. Oops. Along with Wilson and Hasselhoff, the film co-stars Ed Helms, Chris Pine, Brooklyn Decker, James Badge Dale, Ray Liotta and Eddie J. Fernandez. Along...

Joe Carnahan's action, comedy, thriller Stretch was supposed to have hit theaters earlier this year, all the way back in March, before Universal dropped it from its release calendar. Now the film has something of a release date as Universal Studios Home Entertainment will be releasing it on Video On Demand some time in October, though a specific release date is not yet known. It would appear it's actually going to happen this time, however, as Carnahan has been leading the charge marketing the film, largely on Twitter with new pictures and now four clips (somewhat not safe for work) from the movie. The movie centers on a down-on-his-luck chauffeur (Patrick Wilson) looking to relieve himself of some debt when he starts working for a billionaire who makes his life hell. A few days back Paramount invited us to a special junket for the release of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (review) on Blu-ray and DVD. We came back with some interviews and more!
The so-called "spin-off" will hit Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD outlets on April 8th in the wake of its digital release on March 18th. The Blu-ray/DVD combo pack includes an extended unrated version and some new found footage while the DVD boasts only the theatrical cut.
In the film questions are answered, the mythology is taken ten steps further, and when the witches show up, it's for a hell of a lot more than just to say "Boo." This flick delivers on all counts and is not to be missed. It's nothing short of a gift to fans.
Written and directed by Christopher Landon, the film stars Andrew Jacobs, Jorge Diaz, Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, and Eddie J. Fernandez.

Recently we had a chance to sit down with Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (review) director Christopher Landon to get the scoop on what went into his process of making the latest entry in the highly successful juggernaut franchise. Read on!
"The support of the horror community is essential," says Landon of films like Paranormal Activity and lower budget features in general. "I'm a horror fanatic and I've been going on websites forever. You really have to satisfy your base before you can worry about anything or anyone else."
"At the end of the day, you can throw as many millions in advertising at a project as you want, but it's word of mouth that really gets people excited. The success of the first movie especially was a result of the kind of support that the websites gave it."

Far from the privileged homes of Calabasas, away from the domestic squabbling of Katie & Micah—and the rest of their extended family—the fifth installment in the hit 'found footage' series gets a much-needed siesta in East La. Recent high school grads Jesse and Carlos (fresh faces Andrew Jacobs and Eddie J. Fernandez) look forward to a relaxing BBQ-filled summer in the barrio. They live with la familia that includes a loveable hard-drinking abuelita and a sassy sister. Carlos got a new camera for a graduation present so he'll be capturing, well, everything. The murder of a local witch in their apartment complex leads the teens to investigate, stumbling upon those marked symbols. The verdict: the...

Disney's animated Frozen has done what very few films are capable of pulling off as the animated family adventure topped the box office in its not sophomore or even fourth weekend trial, but seventh weekend run. The film frontlined by Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, Alan Tudyk and Ciarán Hinds and grossed $20.7 million from 3,318 theaters (down by 17), averaging $6,425 per theater. That's just a 28% change compared to last weekend's gross as the film marches towards $300 million domestically with over $297.8 million coined thus far. In second, Paramount Pictures' Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones scared up a decent $18.2 million, averaging $6,348 from 2,867 theaters. Christopher Landon directs and wrote the screenplay for the film which stars Andrew Jacobs, Molly Ephraim, Richard Cabral, Jorge Diaz, Jessica Tyler Brown and Eddie J. Fernandez. Expect this one to fall of the charts rapidly, as do most horrors, especially ones out of the Halloween frame.

New Paranormal Activity 5 movie delivered weird thrills, crazy ending & more. Paramount Pictures released their new horror/thriller flick, "Paranormal Activity 5: The Marked Ones" into theaters this weekend. I just watched it, and thought it was pretty entertaining for the most part. It stars: Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, Eddie J. Fernandez, Jorge Diaz, David Fernandez Jr., Kimberly Ables Jindra, Tonja Kahlens, and Frank Salinas. In the new flick, the storyline picked up in June 2012 with a major party going down in Oxnard, California. From there, the film revolved around new character, Jesse, and his friends in a Latino community. The storyline was kind of slow at first. However, things quickly picked up after Jesse discovers he's gotten a strange bite mark on his wrist. From there, he's able to start doing amazing things like defy the laws of gravity, throw people across the room with little effort, blow up an...
