So a bus driver, a priest, and a cop walk into a church.
“Charming” and “adorable” might not be the words you’d want to immediately associate with a Panamanian horror film about witches and cannibals, but Diablo Rojo Pty forces your hand. This adorable yet terrifying tale of the devils in Panama (based on the folklore of La Tuliviejai) is full of heart, charm, and the passion you associate with its geographical area.
Chased out of a bar by a suspected witch, a bus driver and his young pal hit the streets in their party bus only to be hassled by some cops. Stopping to avoid colliding with a woman in the street, the group is attacked by a winged demon who, after mangling an officer’s hand, throws them off course and into Chiriqui, a Panamanian province rumoured to be home to witches, cannibals, and other potential devil-aligned baddies.

Yes, even as the world begins to open up (baby steps), we still need feel-good entertainment now more than ever.
Filmmaker Linda Palmer wrote, directed, and produced a movie that hits just the right note for 2020 with her inspirational film Turnover.
Turnover is a double entendre speaking to both the flakey, fruit-filled pastry as well as the management term most want to steer clear of in their business.
Paul Guilfoyle Plays Peter, a recently divorced cafe owner who works too much, holds his cards too close to the vest and is just running out of steam.
The joy has run out of his business. But that's hardly the end of his story.
Finally forced to take two weeks to himself, he leaves the cafe in the capable hands of his newly promoted cafe manager, Henry (Riker Lynch).
But being open with Henry wasn't Peter's strong point, and when Peter leaves,...

Tagline: "Una Historia Panamena de Supersticiones. Brujeria y Diez Toneladas de Puro Diablo." Diablo Rojo Pty is the latest film to be distributed by the Horror Collective. A Panamanian film in Spanish, this feature focuses on a cast of characters on a bus trip. Along their trip, they are attacked by a band of creatures and forced to take refuge in their broken down bus. From filmmakers Sol Moreno and J. Oskura Najera, this title is slated to show in May, through Amazon. As well, the film stars: Carlos Carrasco, Leo Wiznitzer (Hands of Stone) and Alejandra Araúz. The film's mysterious trailer is below. The official poster for Diablo Rojo Pty is also available. The graphic shows blood red flames and something unholy. The tagline mentions "a Panamanian story of superstitions...brutal and tonnes of evil." A bit retro', the film poster also appears as a portal to something sinister.

Touting itself as the fist English language horror film to be shot in Cuba, Guillermo Iván's Havana Darkness is looking to make a big impression on buyers at Efm in Berlin in the new year. Iván directed, wrote and stars in his own film. Still in post production, we were sent a trailer from one of the production companies, Open Frames, for you viewing enjoyment. When historian Carlos Carrasco comes into possession of a manuscript that he believes to have been written by the late, great Ernest Hemmingway during his stay in Havana, Cuba, he embarks on a journey from New York City with his two close friends, John and Karen, to the bustling Caribbean island in an attempt to prove the manuscripts’ authenticity....

When director Jan de Bont set about casting the various faces and secondary characters that populated bus #2525 in his 1994 actioner "Speed," it was very important to him that they reflect the multicultural identity of Los Angeles. Not only that, but he wanted there to be a heavy dose of realism in his choices, actors who seemed to be people you could look over on a morning commute and see reading the paper, sipping coffee, gazing out the window and starting their day. On the occasion of the film's 20th anniversary, I thought it would be interesting to track down as many of those actors as possible and tell the story of "Speed" from their perspective. It was a gargantuan task. While a number of them have remained in the industry in some way, many have moved on to other careers. But their individual stories are nevertheless as fascinating as the...
