Cologne, Germany -- Holger Andersen, head of comedy at leading German commercial channel Rtl is moving to sister network Rtl 2, where he will take over the position of program director.
At Rtl Anderson helped shepherd through shows such as local-language sitcom "Rita's World" and a variety show starring German stand-up phenomenon Mario Barth.
His exit comes as Rtl is cutting back on in-house drama production, a reaction to Germany's advertising slump.
Markus Kuttner will replace Anderson Oct. 1, running the newly configured Comedy & Real Life division at Rtl. The new structure will lump together reality TV formats with non-fiction comedy programs.
