A certified movie star; Tom Holland is immensely popular for his portrayal of Peter Parker/ Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, when he is not busy being a superhero, he is busy being a hardworking, dedicated, and infectious charmer. Groomed by Robert Downey Jr. himself, the young actor quickly rose to fame, and garnered himself a global fan following, making himself one of the most recognized faces in the world.

Despite the Uncharted actor having several professional achievements, he is an approachable personality, making him an immensely affectionate and likable figure. However, such qualities are not enough for him to portray the role of a young James Bond, and chances are that Holland might already missed out on the role of portraying the iconic character.

Since its inception in 1977 by creator George Lucas, the Star Wars universe has invited some of Hollywood’s biggest names to participate in telling stories from a galaxy far, far away. On that note, imagine having the chance to star in one of the most iconic film sagas of all time, only to walk away with an unpleasant memory that seemed like it’d never fade.
Can an experience alongside a cinematic legend like Lucas ever be, dare we say, “boring”? Well, for Terence Stamp, acclaimed for his chilling portrayal of the villainous General Zod in Richard Donner’s Superman, a discouraging stint on the set of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace left an indelible mark.

The Phantom Menace was a glorious success in terms of box office earnings but the movie that was included in the Star Wars prequel trilogy met with heavy criticism for one primary reason. The trilogy, unlike the sequel movie series, seemed juvenile as considered by fans and critics.

Now, a few decades later, the creator of Star Wars, George Lucas came to defend the prequel trilogy. However, fans are not ready to accept the reasoning the legendary director provided. Star Wars is one of the biggest and most successful franchises in the history of entertainment and Lucas was the mastermind behind the visionary sci-fi world which still adds shows and movies in it.

There is little to no doubt that George Lucas is a legendary name in the film business. As the proponent of the epic Star Wars franchise, the now 80-year-old gave the world one of the most famous fantasy series of all time. The director of the original movie, and executive producer of the two sequels, Lucas returned to direct the prequel trilogy series as well, from 1995-2005.
While the series in itself is generally considered flawless, there is one major element of the six movies that have been criticized, time and again. This is the fact that all the human characters in the movie only featured white actors, suggesting that black people simply do not exist in the space saga.

While such a move would have been a huge problem in today’s climate, George Lucas recently went into detail about this aspect of the series.

George Lucas launched the Star Wars franchise in 1977 which has become ingrained in modern pop culture. A few years later, Lucas crafted a different action-adventure franchise with the first installment of the Indiana Jones films released in 1981, which was directed by his dear friend Steven Spielberg.

After the success of the first installment, Lucas and Spielberg reunited to craft the next chapter in the Indiana Jones saga, and worked on The Temple of Doom. However, the sequel was a stark departure from the previous installment, especially in terms of its tone and more in line with the second installment in Lucas’ Star Wars trilogy. Here is how Indiana Jones was better off following in the footsteps of the Star Wars franchise.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for the A Gentleman in Moscow finale.] A Gentleman in Moscow‘s series finale honored its source material with an ambiguous ending. The episode, which aired on Sunday, May 19 on Showtime, revealed what happened after Count Alexander Rostov (Ewan McGregor), Anna (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Sofia (Beau Gadsdon), and the rest of their friends at the Hotel Metropol launched their plan to get Sofia out of Russia. This also led to Rostov walking out of the hotel’s front doors — an act that’s been paired with the threat of death for decades as he carried out his house arrest in the high-end hotel. After much planning, Sofia’s school trip became the catalyst for her escape in Season 1 Episode 8, “Adieu.” While some roadblocks set her back and threatened her safe departure, the plan worked out in the end. The signal — every phone in the Metropol lobby going off in quick succession — was...

Geroge Lucas changed the face of the galaxy far, far away when the first installment in the prequel trilogy of Star Wars movies was released in 1999. The Phantom Menace introduced viewers to the character of Qui-Gon Jinn, played by Liam Neeson, who plays an integral role in the stories of both Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Liam Neeson’s Qui-Gon Jinn was not in George Lucas’ plans for The Phantom Menace.
However, according to reports, Lucas’ original plans for the film almost did not include Neeson’s character. Moreover, when Lucas did plan to incorporate the Qui-Gon Jinn character, the initial idea was so outrageous that it would have not only upset loyal fans of the franchise but it is hard to imagine Obi-Wan actor Ewan McGregor being on board with it. There are dream jobs, and then there are dream jobs. Acting seems like one of the more potentially fun dreams, especially when someone gets cast in a major franchise. Who among us hasn't imagined getting to be a part of "Star Wars," "Star Trek," the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or whatever movie or television series makes our hearts beat faster? Talk about living the dream. Heck, sometimes those dreams can even be shared, with friends or family members getting to live vicariously through the actor. In the case of actor Maya Erskine, who recently starred as one half of the spy duo "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on Prime, one particularly intense "Star Wars" fan in her family even (jokingly) threatened to disown her if she didn't take a role on the Disney+ series "Obi-Wan Kenobi."

Ewan McGregor and Ellen Burstyn lead the cast of Mother, Couch, a film that dives deep into family dysfunction with a surreal twist. The story centers on a bizarre scenario where Burstyn’s character refuses to leave a couch in a defunct furniture store. Her son David (played by Ewan McGregor), bewildered by his mother’s stubbornness, tries to enlist the help of his siblings Gruffudd (Rhys Ifans) and Linda (Lara Flynn Boyle) to resolve the situation. Plot: Thirty years after the events of the 1994 serial killer thriller Nightwatch, the daughter of two of the deeply damaged surviving characters takes her dad’s old job as night watchman at the Department of Forensic Medicine. Investigating the events that ruined her parents’ lives, she accidentally kicks off a new killing spree.
Review: Back in 1994, Danish filmmaker Ole Bornedal brought the world a serial killer thriller called Nightwatch, about a young law student named Martin (played by future Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) who takes a job as night watchman at the Department of Forensic Medicine in Copenhagen and inadvertently gets mixed up in the investigation of the serial killer case that has been providing the morgue with a lot of fresh corpses. In the B-plot of George Lucas' 2002 sci-fi romance "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones," the stalwart Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) is sent to an ocean planet called Kamino to apprehend an assassin who may be lurking there. Obi-Wan finds more than he expected, as Kamino is the home of a massive cloning facility that has been making duplicates of Jango Fett (Temuera Morrison) for years. There are now millions of him. When Jango Fett catches wise to Obi-Wan's investigation, he leaves Kamino in a miniature spacecraft while Obi-Wan pursues. In order to get Obi-Wan off his tail, Jango flies into a cluttered asteroid field and begins dropping explosive space mines called seismic charges.
The seismic charges, as dramatized in the film, are cylindrical objects that float out into space, hold steady for a moment, and then explode into a flash of blue fire. There is then...

Ole Bornedal follows up his 90s suspense thriller Nightwatch and goes back to the same creepy building
Thirty years ago, just before the Dogme 95 movement raised the profile of Danish film-making, Ole Bornedal’s suspense thriller Nightwatch was what success for the country’s cinema looked like. Partly because of a dare by his reckless buddy Jens, Martin ends up becoming a suspect in that most 1990s of cinematic plot devices, a string of murders of sex workers by a serial killer. Okay, we all loved the original Star Wars trilogy. George Lucas’ unique vision defined the space opera genre and gave us some epic movies that we will love for years to come. But remember when the Prequel Trilogy came out? Sure, by the time the Revenge of the Sith came out, fans were more satisfied with the story, but do you remember how much hate was directed towards Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace when it first came out? And it wasn’t just Jar-Jar Binks that people hated – it was the whole concept and many parts of the story.
Yours truly personally liked the Prequel Trilogy and we on Fiction Horizon are quite happy with how well the three movies aged, as fans have been starting to appreciate these movies more and more in recent years, especially after Disney’s Sequel Trilogy. In light of that, Variety...

When “Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace” debuted on May 19, 1999, few movies before (or since) were greeted with more fevered anticipation. Not only was the movie the first new “Star Wars” movie in a generation, but it was touted as the first of a prequel trilogy charting the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi Knight fated to turn to the dark side as Darth Vader.
Despite the breathless build up, by the end of that summer, the near-universal consensus was that “The Phantom Menace” was, at best, a colossal disappointment and, at worst, a calamitous embarrassment. Some blamed the decision by George Lucas — directing for the first time since 1977’s “A New Hope” — to start the story with a precocious 9-year-old Anakin (Jake Lloyd). Others railed against the slapstick antics and pidgin English of Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best), hyped as the first-ever CG main character in a live-action movie.

Since selling Lucasfilm to Disney for a massive $4 billion, George Lucas has left the House of Mouse to do what it will with Star Wars. Sure, he's visited the set of The Mandalorian and offered a few thoughts on the sequels, but he hasn't been creatively involved.
Disney has returned to many of his greatest creations in recent years, whether it's with a "Baby Yoda," The Clone Wars' Ahsoka Tano, or by filling in the gaps between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope by enlisting Ewan McGregor for Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi.
During an interview with the Full of Sith podcast (via SFFGazette.com), Pablo Hidalgo - a Lucasfilm executive tasked with maintaining the canon of the franchise - confirmed that Lucas was a big fan of the latter series.

"You didn't have to go all crazy just to get the three of us together!" Film Movement has revealed an official trailer for Mother, Couch, a very strange dark comedy from filmmaker Niclas Larsson making his feature directorial debut. This premiered at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival last fall to plenty of mixed reviews, one of the big discoveries from last year's fest even though critics are divided on it. Three children are brought together when their mother refuses to move from a display couch in a furniture store. Which sends them all on an existential odyssey. TIFF intro adds: Ewan McGregor, Rhys Ifans, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Ellen Burstyn star in this sublime and eccentric story about the grand expanse that parents occupy within our lives and the family that has to come together to help you find your way. The cast also includes F. Murray Abraham, Lake Bell, and Taylor Russell.

Ewan McGregor and Ellen Burstyn are a toxic son-mother duo just in time for Mother’s Day.
The aptly titled indie film “Mother, Couch” marks first time filmmaker Niclas Larsson’s directorial debut. Larsson penned the script based on Jerker Virdborg’s novel “Mamma I Soffa” that centers on a dysfunctional family trying to convince their mother (Burstyn) to leave a department store.
A trio of estranged children — David (McGregor), Gruffudd (Rhys Ifans), and Linda (Lara Flynn Boyle) — must figure out how to escape the eerie store that is owned by identical twins Marco and Marcus (F. Murray Abraham) and daughter Bella (Taylor Russell). The film becomes a descent into madness and mayhem as the store melts into a surreal purgatory where the two families must purge their long-withheld resentments.
“Mother, Couch” is produced by Ella Bishop and Pau Suris for Suris/Bishop Films, Alex Black for Lyrical Media, and Sara Murphy for Fat City.

Hayden Christensen is a widespread name in pop culture for his role as Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise. He featured in the second and the third installments of the Prequel Trilogy Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith before returning to his role in the Disney+ Star Wars shows Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka.
The Prequel Trilogy focused on Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker’s slow descent into the dark side until he ultimately becomes Darth Vader. Although the actor did a lot to make his performance as iconic as possible, Christensen’s work always resulted in a mixed reception among critics and fans.
Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader
Hayden Christensen has spoken repeatedly about his injuries while filming Star Wars. From the lightsaber battles to flying a shaky speeder, the Shattered Glass actor admitted that his role in the space opera epic was physically demanding.

George Lucas Gives Obi-Wan Kenobi Series His Seal of Approval - Main Image
George Lucas may have handed the reins of Star Wars to Disney, but the creator of one of the biggest science-fiction franchises in existence has apparently still been keeping up with what's happening in a galaxy far, far away.

Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered if any film could capture the awe-inspiring vastness of the cosmos? Many directors have soared through the stars in science fiction, but one visionary’s belief is as enduring as the galaxy itself. George Lucas, the renowned creator of the epic Star Wars, has a deep appreciation for a cinematic masterpiece that even his own galactic saga cannot match: Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.
George Lucas [Photo: Joey Gannon/Wikimedia Commons]Lucas made cinematic history in 1977 with Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, an instant classic that catapulted science fiction to the forefront of popular culture. Despite his phenomenal success, he remains convinced that Kubrick’s 1968 magnum opus is an unmatched masterpiece, a celestial pinnacle that no filmmaker in the near future can hope to surpass.
The film starred Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood in the leading roles.

Actor Michael Douglas, known for his roles in iconic films such as Basic Instinct, Fatal Attraction and Disclosure, recently commented on the recent decrease in on-screen sex scenes.
Douglas, 79, expressed his thoughts on the matter in an interview with the U.K.’s Radio Times and highlighted the emergence of intimacy coordinators in the film industry.
“I’m past the age where I’ve got to worry about that,” Douglas said. “But it’s interesting with all the intimacy coordinators. It feels like executives taking control away from filmmakers — but there have been some terrible faux pas and harassment.”
Douglas shared his personal philosophy on intimate scenes on film: “Sex scenes are like fight scenes; it’s all choreographed. In my experience, you take responsibility as the man to make sure the woman is comfortable. You talk it through. You say, ‘Okay, I’m gonna touch you here if that’s all right.

Imperator Furiosa is, in my humble opinion, one of the most important characters to hit the big screen in the last 20 years. She represents a justified rage often denied to women in post-apocalyptic films, a physical capability typically reserved for men who have been shaved down from slabs of meat on a GyroKone, and serves as a protector of the five wives — a woman looking after other women who are treated as little more than a form of currency. When "Mad Max: Fury Road" director George Miller expressed a desire to make a standalone epic prequel focusing on Furiosa, fans were thrilled at the prospect. Charlize Theron beautifully brought Furiosa to life, so it was only natural that she'd be brought back for the film.
During a special screening of "Furiosa" and a press event with Miller at IMAX Headquarters, he explained that replacing Theron was a matter of logistics.

Obnoxious flatmates Ewan McGregor, Christopher Eccleston and Kerry Fox get way more than they bargained for with the arrival of enigmatic Keith Allen and a suitcase full of cash
Rereleased for its 30th anniversary, the macabre black-comic crime caper is from screenwriter John Hodge with Danny Boyle making his feature-directing debut, giving us a hint of the turbocharged showmanship that always marked his style and which he was to crank up another notch a few years later with the zeitgeisty 90s hit Trainspotting. Shallow Grave is a bizarre Edinburgh noir, centring on cover-ups, disloyalty and incompetent corpse-management in the approximate spirit of Ealing, with touches of Hitchcock’s The Trouble With Harry and Orton’s Entertaining Mr Sloane. It’s also a kind of 90s young person flatshare entertainment, but closer to the BBC’s This Life than Friends.
We get an embarrassment of riches in the cast, with Peter Mullan,...

After producing the upcoming documentary “The Blue Angels,” J.J. Abrams and Glen Powell are in early talks to team up for a new movie, with Abrams eyeing Powell to star in his next directorial effort.
Deals have yet to close, but in the aftermath of “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Anyone but You,” no one’s career has been hotter than Powell’s, who continues to garner interest from big-name filmmakers and studios.
There’s no telling when this project would fit into Powell’s jam-packed production schedule. He’ll next be seen starring in Netflix’s “Hit Man,” which he also co-wrote with director Richard Linklater, but he’s also set to star in Edgar Wright’s “The Running Man” reboot for Paramount. That news was revealed at CinemaCon, where the actor also promoted Universal’s “Twisters” as a prospective summer blockbuster. Also in the works is “Chad Powers,” a...

Since Star Wars‘ inception, the technology presented in the galaxy far, far away has always been fascinating to viewers, whether it be the iconic lightsabers or the levitating Speeder bikes. Introduced first in A New Hope, speeders have undergone numerous evolutions with each passing release and remain one of the coolest aspects of the prequel trilogy.
But unlike their onscreen presentation, riding them on set was a disappointing experience for Natalie Portman, who previously spoke in support of the excessive use of blue screen in the prequels.

While viewers can suspend their disbelief and get lost in the galaxy far, far away and its alluring levitating speeders, unfortunately, Natalie Portman didn’t have that luxury. Despite finding the speeder on set enthralling to look at,...
